Embarking on the "Common Bride Quilt-Along" with Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts is an enriching journey into the art of quilting. Designed for experienced quilters, this quilt-along offers a structured, week-by-week approach to crafting the exquisite "Common Bride" quilt, culminating in a stunning 86" x 86" masterpiece.

Before diving into the quilting process, it's essential to gather the necessary materials. The quilt requires a total of 7¼ yards of light fabric for the background and triangles, which can be composed of 1 yard, ½ yard, and 23 fat quarters. For the appliqué, patches, diamonds, and additional triangles, 7 yards of medium and dark fabrics are needed, ideally in a variety of colors such as pink, red, olive green, brown, blue, and cheddar. Additionally, 1 yard of fabric is required for binding, and 8 yards for backing. Having these materials prepared in advance ensures a smooth and enjoyable quilting experience.

The quilt-along is thoughtfully divided into weekly segments, each focusing on different components of the quilt:

Week 1: Build Eight Point Star blocks.

Week 2: Progress to constructing the Eight Point Star blocks

Week 3: Complete the Eight Point Star blocks.

Week 4: Build Feathered Star Center block.

Week 5: Build beautiful basket blocks.

Week 6: Fill our baskets with beautiful flowers.

Week 7: Adding some beautiful blossoms to the quilt.

Week 8: Quilt is in full bloom.

Each week is accompanied by detailed instructions and visual aids, guiding participants through the intricate processes of piecing, appliqué, and assembly. Edyta's expert guidance ensures that quilters not only follow along but also enhance their skills and appreciation for the craft.

Participating in the "Common Bride Quilt-Along" offers more than just the creation of a beautiful quilt; it provides an opportunity to join a vibrant community of fellow quilters. Sharing progress, exchanging tips, and offering encouragement are integral aspects of this collective experience. Engaging with others fosters a sense of camaraderie and enriches the quilting journey.
