Embarking on the "Common Bride Quilt-Along" with Edyta Sitar of Laundry Basket Quilts is an enriching journey into the art of quilting. Before diving into the quilting process, it's essential to gather the necessary materials. The quilt requires a total of 7¼ yards of light fabric for the background and triangles, which can be composed of 1 yard, ½ yard, and 23 fat quarters. For the appliqué, patches, diamonds, and additional triangles, 7 yards of medium and dark fabrics are needed, ideally in a variety of colors such as pink, red, olive green, brown, blue, and cheddar. Additionally, 1 yard of fabric is required for binding, and 8 yards for backing. Having these materials prepared in advance ensures a smooth and enjoyable quilting experience.
